Shopify Integration

This guide walks you through installing Racoons on your Shopify store. No code changes are needed — the Racoons AI Analytics app handles everything through Shopify's theme editor.

Prerequisites

Before installing the Shopify app, you need a Racoons account and project:

1. Visit racoons.ai and click "Sign In"
2. Create your account using your email or Google
3. Create an organization and a project
4. Set the Project URL to your Shopify store domain (e.g. https://your-store.myshopify.com)
5. Copy your Project ID from the project settings page — you'll need it in the next step

Install the Shopify App

1. Find Racoons AI Analytics on the Shopify App Store and click Install
2. Confirm the installation on your Shopify admin

Enable Tracking

After installing the app, you need to enable it in your theme:

1. In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store → Themes
2. Click Customize on your active theme
3. In the theme editor, click the App embeds icon (in the left sidebar)
4. Find Racoons AI Analytics and toggle it on
5. Paste your Project ID into the text field
6. Click Save

Tracking is now live on your store.

Verification

To verify events are flowing:

1. Open your Shopify store in a browser
2. Open the browser developer tools (F12) and go to the Network tab
3. Browse around your store — you should see requests to api.racoons.ai/events
4. Check your Racoons dashboard to confirm events are appearing

What Gets Tracked

The Racoons SDK automatically tracks:

• Page views — every page load on your store
• Clicks — all click interactions with element metadata
• UTM parameters — campaign attribution from URL parameters
• Referrers — where visitors are coming from
• Session data — visitor sessions and return visits

No additional configuration is needed. All tracked data flows into your Racoons dashboard where you can view analytics, run AI analyses, and chat with your data.

Troubleshooting

Events not appearing in dashboard

• Verify your Project ID is correct in the theme editor
• Confirm the Project URL in your Racoons project settings matches your Shopify store domain
• Check that the Racoons AI Analytics app embed is toggled on in your theme

Script not loading

• Check the browser console for errors
• Ensure ad blockers are not blocking cdn.racoons.ai or api.racoons.ai
• Verify the app embed is targeting the correct theme (your published theme, not a draft)
